Our clients joining us on this adventure in design include a range of market-leading businesses. Yet all share one common value: that outstanding design improves the working lives of their people.
It was very late in the day, to the point that I pondered whether it [redesign] was worth doing or whether I was taking too much of a chance. It was taking a leap of faith, doing something different with not much time. We had to future-proof the space, ensuring we could add to it later, possibly taking it into the main office floor.... Overall, I believe the visitor experience has been enhanced by providing a platform for engaging with all our brands and products.
We had limited internal expertise and were relying heavily on the use of external advisors. Along the entire process we felt like we were a key and valued customer, receiving Burtt-Jones & Brewer’s full attention whenever required. Steve encouraged us to approach the project with an open mind, challenging our preconceptions and suggesting innovative solutions. We felt like great quality office design and ultimately the productivity of staff were at the fore of his suggestions and he was excellent at coming up with ideas which matched our budget and workplace aspirations. The end result was a modern, more vibrant workplace which we were proud to unveil to our staff.
MSQ Partners is a £100m, international marketing communications Group, headquartered in the UK. Burtt-Jones & Brewer and the team worked with us on an important and complex project to consolidate all of our London agencies into one building. Overall, they managed to more than satisfy all of the stakeholders involved, deliver a product that exceeded the expectations of all involved, and remain within the budgetary stipulations of the Group. In terms of the value that is delivered and the money that is saved through the scheme.
The reception is a sensitive, cost effective response to our specific brief. The innovative design worked very well to over-clad the existing reception desk, using a mixture of finishes chosen by our SEB brand guardian and Burtt-Jones & Brewer. The new ergonomically designed desk and wall cladding modernise a dated space, with some very clever details, such as a lowered counter section for courier drop off packages and the small, discreet store spaces for the tenants’ post behind the desk.
Bath and North East Somerset Council worked closely with Burtt-Jones & Brewer on the design of Bath’s Co-Working Hub, which is based in the Guildhall. The Co-Working Hub is now fully operational and has become the centre of Bath’s creative and tech community. The interior design of the space has helped to create a genuine community of Co-Workers, with adaptable places to work, meet, drink and eat. I have no hesitation in recommending Burtt-Jones & Brewer for further work of this kind.
The results have been extremely positive, with members of staff benefiting from a design and layout which looks great but has also helped their working patterns and efficiency. The resulting workspace reflects BJ&B’s understanding of our underlying needs and not simply the requirement of accommodating people and departments.
Burtt-Jones & Brewer approached the project in a way that he found unique, by discovering ideas through a process of challenging the use of space and opinion.’ They also designed their in-house small cinema...!
The care taken and attention to detail throughout the planning and delivery of the project is evidenced by the fact that the move occurred on time, under budget, and with no unexpected last minute hitches of any kind. Our employees are delighted, and the enhanced practicality and modern design of the offices has resulted in a step-change in morale and commitment.
