Your Workplace

BJB have over two decades of understanding the range and scale of challenges you face when considering changes to your workplace. Whether you’re moving office or improving the space of your current workplace, we know it can raise concerns over budget, time, and energy, as well as emotional upheaval.

Your journey

With 86,000 hours of our life spent at work, it’s crucial to choose the right guides to lead you on your journey. To chart a path and process to get there, that’s smooth, trusted, transparent, and proven.

So, where do you start? Who should you talk to first? An architect? Fit-out company? Facility Manager? Human Resources? Or, an independent Workplace Design Consultancy like us.

We believe in journeys that are adventures. Adventures with design as its compass. Turning your workplace into space that initiates positive change. Connecting place, people, performance, with perfection.

“ It was taking a leap of faith, doing something different with not much time. We had to future proof the space, ensuring we could add to it later, to unite Wolverine’s brands.  Overall, I believe the visitor experience has been enhanced by providing a platform for engaging with all our brands and products.”

Tahera Hammond, previously Head FM at Wolverine UK EMEA

Design. Challenge. Inspire.

It’s easy to get used to the familiar. To not always see how our environment affects working lives. Or how design changes, big or small, can have a dramatic impact on place, people, and performance.

We believe in long term, strategic value. Too many problems arise during a project process because not enough thought (or investment) is given to clarifying the challenges and exploring the range and quality of possible solutions.

Understanding your organisation is a vital aspect of what we do. From evaluating the performance of your building to understanding your aspirations. Because we know by asking the right questions, by listening carefully, we reduce risk, cost and delays, and we achieve successful outcomes.

So why not start that conversation here.

YOUR PLACE

Look around the space you’re currently in. How happy do you feel right now? Do you feel inspired? Are you sitting comfortably? Do you feel motivated? Valued? Does the space feel connected to your business brand?

Office design is changing. There are many furniture and product solutions in today’s market place that enable and increase productivity, performance and wellbeing in the workspace. Our years of experience mean we understand what impact new technologies can have on your working environment, from access, orientation, lighting and airflow, to movement of sunlight and sustainability.

While a change in the physical environment will not, by itself, change the culture of an organisation, it can reflect the desired culture of the organisation. Which in turn will help to promote certain behaviours and attitudes.

When a large American insurance company needed to expand and move floors within their iconic building, we came up with some highly innovative designs, including a dedicated broker bar with Maitre d’ and a large scale break out area for client and broker interactions. All delivered with bespoke signage solution and original artwork curated for the project

YOUR PEOPLE

Do you know what would make a difference to your employees’ working lives? Have you asked your people what they need, or would like, in their workplace? Do you know how your environment is affecting the wellbeing of your workforce?

We know great design can have a direct impact on wellbeing. It can boost morale, encourage loyalty, enhance health, and attract and keep the best staff.

We believe your people already know what they need. Ask them in-depth questions about their roles and responsibilities and you’ll be on your way to creating a workplace that meets the real needs of your people, for today and the future. That’s when attitudes and behaviours will change, because
your people see that you care. And what we care about, we look after.

“The results have been extremely positive, with members of staff benefiting from a design and layout which looks great but has also helped their working patterns and efficiency. The resulting workspace reflects BJ&B’s understanding of our underlying needs and not simply the requirement of accommodating people
and departments.”

Senior HR manager, Coventry Building Society

YOUR PERFORMANCE

Are you maximising your space to get the best out of your people? Can you be using your space more efficiently to improve performance?

“Only 55.3% of employees surveyed in the Leesman Index (Leesman Office – 28.02.17) agree their workplace enables them to work productively.”

Design has such an important impact on the success and productivity of businesses. Understanding the psychology of workers and what environment they need to do their job effectively is critical for optimising a company’s culture and levels of performance.

“Burtt-Jones & Brewer took time to understand our workplace culture and type of environment we were looking for to enhance our staff’s performance."

Mike Wolfrey (former MD) Glenigan EMAP Ltd
